Pumpkin Carving Contest

Eligibility

  • Open to all community members

  • Participants must register below by 10/3

  • Only one entry per person

Entry Requirements

  • Pumpkins must be carved and/or decorated at home.

  • Each entrant will be assigned a number the week of the festival. Please write the number on the back of your pumpkin in sharpie or other bold marker/paint.

  • We encourage you to go wild with materials and imagination!

Judging Criteria

Our panel of five judges will evaluate each entry with the following guidelines:

  • Creativity/Originality (40%) – Is it unique and imaginative?

  • Execution/Skill (30%) – Craftsmanship, neatness, complexity.

  • Theme & Presentation (20%) – Overall impact and design concept.

  • Audience Appeal (10%) – Crowd reactions

Competition Process

  • Drop-off: Contestants deliver completed pumpkins to our produce department between 10am on 10/3 and 10am 10/4.

  • Judging: Begins promptly at 12pm on Sunday, October 4th

  • Awards Ceremony: Winners announced at 1pm

Prizes

The top three pumpkins from the Youth, Adult, and People’s Choice categories will receive the following prizes:

  • 1st Place: $75 Gift Card

  • 2nd Place: $50 Gift Card

  • 3rd Place: $25 Gift Card

Rules of Conduct

  • No carving or decorating is permitted at the time of the event.

  • Pumpkins must be left at the store to be displayed for all to see over the next week.

  • Judges’ decisions are final.
